The script of this play explicitly calls for all sound effects to be created organically by the actors on stage. The actors were choreographed to stomp and clap at certain moments of the show. As such, I decided to place boundary mics on several part of the set in order to pick up these natural sounds. These mics were then sent into Mainstage on a Mac, where effects were added for various different moments during the show. This allowed me to make the tiny blackbox feel much larger and like the audience was apart of a massive sporting event. I also placed a microphone in the prop vintage mic to give it a gritty, period announcer sound.
